"Pirates" fans in cities across the U.S. will have a chance to celebrate their favorite film series and be the first in the world to see the new trailer for the highly anticipated upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End at a special nationwide "Pirates Ultimate Fan Event" on Sunday, March 18th. Fans are encouraged to log on to: Disney.com/piratesfanevent to win a chance to attend this exclusive event, which will be held at a select theater in each market. Those winners that come dressed in their finest pirates garb will be granted priority admission in each location.
In addition to being the first in the world to see the new trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, lucky fans will be treated to a screening of the film that started it all, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl as well as a treasure trove of giveaways and mega-prizes from Pirates partners.
The action-packed trailer will have its debut to the general public the next day on Monday, March 19th during the premiere episode of ABC's immensely popular "Dancing with the Stars" (between 8-10 pm).
Following the broadcast debut, the trailer will premiere online at Yahoo.com in High Definition, on Disney.com, and other premium online destinations around the world at 10:00 pm PST on Monday, March 19th.
Additionally, starting on Friday, March 9th, fans can grab a "Pirate Viral Player" and add it to their own website, social networking page, or Blog. Each player will countdown to the online debut of the trailer, and will feature a continuous feed of Pirates video content through the release of the film. The viral player will be deployed in over 30 countries and in 26 languages, counting down to a synchronized trailer launch for fans around the world.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End picks up where the record-breaking 2006 smash hit left off, with our heroes Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) allied with Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) in a desperate quest to free Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from his mind-bending trap in Davy Jones' locker. British pop star Lily Allen has been recreated as a character in role playing computer game THE SIMS.
The singer has also reworked hit song SMILE in fictional language
Simlish with fans given the opportunity to impress Allen with their own
versions of the song in a game-based competition.
Allen explains, "Recording 'Smile' in Simlish for 'The Sims 2 Seasons' was a fun experience!"

Northern Irish rockers Snow Patrol are hoping to expand their worldwide
fanbase after recording new music for the upcoming SPIDER-MAN 3 movie
soundtrack.
Frontman GARY LIGHTBODY revealed the CHASING CARS hitmakers'
involvement in the Hollywood blockbuster this week (begs05MAR07), and
while he's not sure exactly where their track SIGNAL FIRE will be
included in the film, he's delighted to be associated with the
Spider-Man franchise.
He says, "Signal Fire will be featured in the trailers and the movie
itself. It may only appear over the end credits, but hey, it's Spidey!"

Shia LaBeouf is in final talks to star in Steven Spielberg's Indiana
Jones 4 as the son of the adventuresome archaeologist to be played once
again by Harrison Ford. Spielberg and George Lucas' Lucasfilm, which is
producing the fourth film for Paramount, are keeping the storyline
under tight wraps. David Koepp (Spider-Man) wrote the script.
Spielberg is set to begin shooting Indiana Jones 4 in June. The film is
scheduled for a May 22, 2008 release, taking advantage of the Memorial
Day holiday.
LaBeouf stars in two upcoming DreamWorks pics, Disturbia and
Transformers. The actor also provides the lead voice in Sony's upcoming
animated film Surf's Up.

Universal has bought spec script Unnatural Selection from new writer
Cameron Fay in a deal that also calls for him to direct.
Mary Parent
and Scott Stuber will produce the romantic comedy for Stuber/Parent.
The story revolves around an underachiever who picks up women out of
his league by befriending them, then finds his match in an old female
pal from college, who's now divorced and has a child.

20th Century Fox has given the green light to M. Night Shyamalan's The
Happening, a spec script thriller that Shyamalan wrote and will direct
in Philadelphia this August. Fox is targeting a June, 2008 release for
the film.
Shyamalan will produce with Sam Mercer. He also reunites with Munich
producer Barry Mendel, who produced the Shyamalan-directed The Sixth
Sense and Unbreakable.
The film, previously known as "The Green Effect," will mark Shyamalan's
first R-rated effort, is a paranoid thriller about a family on the run

Mel Gibson (Apocalypto) is thinking of heading south to film a movie in Panama, tourism officials said Monday.
Gibson dined Sunday night with Ruben Blades, a tourism spokesman and singer, who suggested his next project should be a remake of the 1950 film noir Panic in the Streets, set in Panama.
Panamanian filmmaker Jose Severino was quoted in Monday editions of the daily newspaper La Prensa as saying that he was in negotiations with Gibson to produce a movie about Spanish explorer Vasco Nunez de Balboa, the first European to see the Pacific Ocean from its eastern shore.

Fresh on the heels of their Oscar wins, Jennifer Hudson and Forest Whitaker won NAACP Awards on Friday night for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress in Dreamgirls and The Last King of Scotland, while arguably the most popular musician in the world won a special humanitarian award. Other winners on Friday night include Keke Palmer, Isaiah Washington, and the show Ugly Betty.
Jennifer Hudson has become one of the most honored actresses of 2006, winning again in the same category for the same performance in Dreamgirls for which she won the Oscar on Sunday night. She told the audience, "There is nothing like being recognized and honored by your own."
