Ethan Hawke is set to topline the indie drama Staten Island, with James DeMonaco making his directorial debut.
DeMonaco's script intersects the storylines of three of the borough residents and struggles of getting ahead. DeMonaco adapted the 2005 remake of John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13 that starred Hawke.
Filming is scheduled to begin late April in New York.

Paramount Pictures and producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura have optioned the novel "Kringle" by Tony Abbott, and attached Mark Dindal (Chicken Little) to direct the family adventure film. Dindal will co-write the script with Jason Richman (Bad Company).
The live-action epic will feature warriors, battles and fairies as it explores the origin of the Kris Kringle myth and how Christmas came to be.
Paramount-based Di Bonaventura will produce through his eponymous production company.

Premise: There is an old ghost story in the sleepy town of Ravens Fair about Mary Shaw, a ventriloquist who went mad. Accused of the murder of a young boy, she was hunted down by vengeful townspeople who cut out her tongue and killed her. They buried her along with her "children," a hand-made collection of vaudeville dolls. Since that time, Ravens Fair has been plagued by death. The ghastly dolls from Mary Shaw¿s collection have gone missing from the grave and reappeared over the decades.
