I can't throw these up for you to conveniently click on right in the post (fie embedding disabled!), but read on for links to two funky new television spots.First up is Adam Sandler's Bedtime Stories. We've seen the gumballs rain down on Sandler, and now there's a cute TV spot to get the whole gist of the

I didn't get beyond the fifth Harry Potter novel, so I'm not familiar with what goes on in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I never would have thought, however, that it features an adorable version of Voldemort (which reminded our own Kim Voynar of the young Anakin of The Phantom Menace), nor would I have ever imagined, in my wildest years, that it is anything like Trainspotting.

And I thought living out Freaky Friday or Honey, I Shrunk the Kids would suck. In a move reminiscent of the Angel episode "Story Time," The Hollywood Reporter posts that Disney has picked up a pitch from Patrick Doody and Chris Valenziano called Happy Little Family. But instead of all those human parts morphing into a small, felty puppet, they're becoming dollish.

"You know what, Ted?" "What, Frank?" "There's been a whole bunch of them sequels lately - we got that Hulk and another Narnia, heck, even another Indiana Jones movie..." "Yep." "...and you know what I've been waiting for another one of?" "What's that, Frank?"

Let's all take a moment and give a cheer for the good old days of children's programming, shall we? Back to when kid's shows had more drug references than a Cheech and Chong skit, and Stevie Wonder was jamming on Sesame Street. So I guess it was only a matter of time before Hollywood started to cash in on the nostalgia -- and in an interview with the Brothers Krofft about the upcoming feature film remake of Land of the Lost, IESB scored a tidbit about their next feature film.

A bunch of new Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince promotional images have surfaced, thanks to the intrepid reporters at SnitchSeeker. They were spotted at the New York Licensing Expo -- and, funnily enough, the coolest character shots came from the Opal Yarn display. (As a knitter who specializes in such things as Harry Potter scarves and Jayne Cobb hats,

Yahoo! Movies has the first look at the trailer for Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, and yes, all those sassy creatures that moviegoers dug to the tune of $193.5 million in the summer of 2005 are back, and this time... the penguins still seem to be stealing the show (I don't really have anything against the first movie, but the penguin-centric holiday short spin-off was itself far more amusing and, as such, has been included after the jump

I love a surprise, even a small one like finding out that Kung Fu Panda was more likeable and fun than I might have expected. I have a secret mini-crush on Jack Black (okay, maybe not so secret)...

From Cannes last week, Kim shared a discussion with Tom Noonan about Spike Jonze's Where the Wild Things Are. Although she wasn't able to ask about the whole Wild kerfuffle that has been going on, between test screenings and release dates, she said: "He seemed to think the film will be released in his current iteration, though of course, if that's not the case, he wouldn't necessarily be in the loop."

One thing you can count on in Hollywood is that when a film under-performs at the box office, the studio will have a bevy of explanations for it -- and it's never just that the movie is no good. (Wouldn't that be great, though? "Yes, our tentpole summer release tanked. Our best explanation for this is that it was just a huge pile of crap.")

During the roundtable interviews for Synecdoche, NY today, actor Tom Noonan, who plays one of the "wild things" in Spike Jonze's adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's book, Where the Wild Things Are, chatted with us a bit about the film.

Cannes deals may be tepid, but Variety has a whole bunch of new casting notices. Here's part one:
Years ago, one of James Russo's first gigs was as a Convenience Store Robber in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Since then, he's popped up in Beverly Hills Cop, The Blue Iguana, Donnie Brasco, and Paris. Now he has nabbed the part of Walter Dietrich in Michael Mann's Public Enemies.

This week, Walt Disney Pictures releases The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. To some, it's special for its literary roots, but to others, I imagine it's a blast back to a time when Disney was all about throwing real kids into amazing adventures. These days, they don't do it very often, but Disney used to rule the world of family adventures that sparked the imaginations of kids everywhere

Yes, I imagine right about now the folks at Marvel Productions are sporting grins wide enough to swallow their own ears. Iron Man held the number one spot for two weeks in a row, taking in $177 million since its release last week, making it the top grossing film of 2008 so far. The superhero blockbuster pulled in more than last week's two new releases combined, with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz's comedy What Happens in Vegas edging out the Wachowskis more family-friendly adaptation of Speed Racer. Here's the final tally.
