This summer has been a big one for the fanboy (and girl) nation. Geeks have rejoiced as their favorite icons have come to grace the silver screen either once again or for the first time -- Tony Stark, Indiana Jones, Bruce Wayne, Bruce Banner, Kit Kittredge -- with each film accompanied by its own modest fan frenzy (yes, a $155 million opening weekend equals modest 'round these parts).

So while details surrounding the big-screen version of Dragonball have been kept relatively under wraps, it is wise to remember that nothing ever stays secret for long in the age of the internet.

Talk about a holiday weekend -- at least for me! The latest issue of Empire is boasting a new photo of Hugh Jackman as the titular Wolverine. It's obviously from the same photo shoot that gave us the very first photo since he's sporting the same white tank top. So, truth be told, it's not that exciting.

You know that feeling you get when something looks so familiar but you just can't put your finger on it? Well, that's how I felt after I saw the latest poster release for Marcel Langenegger's, Deception (see to the right, and click to enlarge). After a furious search to try and figure out just what it was about the poster that was so familiar, I came up empty. Luckily, the sharp eyes over at the Ropes of Silicon boards noticed the poster was almost identical to The Prestige.
Ewan McGregor stars as Jonathan, a buttoned down accountant who is swept up in a mysterious sex club called 'The List'. Hugh Jackman plays his lawyer friend who leads Jonathan down the 'rabbit hole' involving a missing girl and a million dollar fraud. There aren't that many differences between this latest poster release and the previous release -- in fact, there are only a few minor differences. The most noticeable being that Jackman had a lot more real estate on the first poster than he does now. On the upside, we actually get to see McGregor's face this time around.

Chris Evans was a novice at handling guns before taking on the role of Robbery Homicide Detective Paul Diskant in Street Kings, a gritty drama set in Los Angeles and directed by David Ayer (Harsh Times). Evans has played a fiery superhero, a teen heartthrob, and the member of an elite crew trying to save the Sun, but had never before had to use a gun in a film role. And although some members of the cast got to do weapons training in a simulator, Evans never had that chance. “I went out to do the gun range stuff. Keanu and I went with David to this gun range and fired off a few rounds. I had never fired a gun before so it was crazy,” revealed Evans.
Evans stars as the detective in charge of the investigation of an officer’s slaying at a convenience store. The officer, who was cut down by two masked gunman, was in the process of providing evidence to Internal Affairs about the activities of the department’s elite Ad Vice unit. Detective Diskant teams up with the slain officer’s ex-partner (played by Keanu Reeves) to uncover the truth behind the murder of one of their own.

Twentieth Century Fox's "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!" enjoyed a who-licious bow of $45.1 million at the domestic box office, the biggest opening of the year and furthering Fox's successful foray into the animated and family marketplace.
"Horton"--toplining the voices of Jim Carrey and Steve Carell and produced by Blue Sky Studios--becomes the fifth-best opening ever for a G-rated toon, a market otherwise owned by Disney and Pixar. It also is the fourth-best opening ever for March, after Warner Bros' "300" and Fox's own animated PG toons "Ice Age" and sequel "Ice Age: The Meltdown."
"It's a who-mongous opening. It played to whos from ages 2 to 92. Blue Sky has made a film that makes you feel like you are immersed in the pages of Dr. Seuss' world," Fox senior VP of distribution Chris Aronson said.

OK, so the first photo to emerge from the set of the big-screen video game movie Max Payne probably isn't as exciting as we would like it to be. But, I've been in this business long enough to know I should take what I can get. Dark Zero has the first picture of Mark Wahlberg on set of the action flick, and to be expected, he's in full scowl.
Payne centers on a NYPD detective in Hell's Kitchen. When his family is brutally murdered, Payne is left to uncover the reasons why, all the while being accused of the crime himself. Throw in the mafia, corrupt corporations, and shady lady named Mona Sax, and you have all the ingredients of a decent noir thriller. It was just announced that Mila Kunis (Family Guy) will star as Sax. In the film, Kunis will play a young woman who joins up with Payne to get revenge for the murder of her sister.

"Family Guy's" Cleveland Brown might be getting his own show.
Fox and 20th Century Fox TV are developing a spinoff from its hit animated series centered on Peter Griffin's bathtub-accident-prone neighbor, sources said.
The project, tentatively titled "Cleveland," is being written by "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, Mike Henry -- who voices Cleveland and serves as writer-producer on the series -- and "The Simpsons" alum Rich Appel, executive producer/showrunner on MacFarlane's other animated comedy for Fox, "American Dad."
Cleveland, who plays off black stereotypes, is the most levelheaded among Griffin's trio of friends.

Danny Huston will play William Stryker in 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He joins Hugh Jackman (Logan/Wolverine) and Liev Schreiber (Victor Creed/Sabretooth) in the "X-Men" spin-off directed by Gavin Hood and coming to theaters on May 1, 2009.
In X2: X-Men United, Brian Cox played an older version of the William Stryker character.
This film leads up to the events of X-Men and tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.
