Good news for UK film fans as the second edition of the Tiger Festival has just announced the complete slate of film set to hit London and Brighton throughout May and June. What have they got? Oh, you know. Mad Detective, The Assembly, Funuke, Show Some Love You Losers, Memories of Matsuko, D-War, Dog Bite Dog and more! Throw in a series of parties, music events and some solid guests and you’ve got the makings of a very solid event. Read on for the full announcement!
The Tiger Festival, as part of the China Now series of events, present a selection of /the latest Far Eastern films, across all genres, plus live music events and club nights. The 2nd edition of the festival sees the addition of the prestigious Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), London as an official venue, alongside the existing Duke of York’s Picturehouse, Brighton. Memories of Matsuko will open the festival on 29th May 2008 at the ICA and the closing film will be Johnny To’s Mad Detective. The live music line up, club night venues, sponsors and marketing partners will be announced via a further press release to follow and on the official festival websites, All films and music events will be held in London between 29th May – June 8th and then toured to Brighton on June 11th – June 22nd The festival will host a short-film competition, in conjunction with nonmultiplexcinema.com, open to all UK producers and/or directors. Submissions should be sent to Non Multiplex Cinema on DVD and be a maximum of 10mins length, and with a Far Eastern theme.
